Black Lightning Season 3: Premiere Is Happening Earlier, Characters Will Join Arrowverse

What is the fate of Pierce Family? With the return of CW’s Black Lightning Season 3, the fans are desperate to know what will Jefferson Pierce, a.k.a. Black Lightning will do to save his family? The series was renewed back in January 2019, and since then, the audience is longing to hear about the upcoming season.

Black Lightning Season 3: Premiere Is Sooner Than Expected

The third season of Black Lightning was first scheduled to release on October 21, 2019. This fall schedule announcement was made by the network back in June. However, the premiere date got recently rescheduled for October 7, 2019, as announced at this year’s Television Critics Association summer press tour. The third season of Black Lightning will premiere right after its Monday night programming partner, All American.

Black Lightning’s debut in Crisis on Infinite Earths

The CW’s panel at TCA also unveiled that the Black Lightning characters are going to join the heroic superheroes in Arrowverse as a part of the five-episode crossover event, Crisis on Infinite Earths. The episodes will premiere by the end of the year, in December 2019. However, it is still unclear where Black Lightning will fit and how will he change the entire Crisis? This collaboration actually came in because of the fan’s earnest request involving Black Lightning into the Arrowverse.

Trailer Released at Comic-Con

The first look for Black Lightning Season 3 released at 2019 San Diego Comic-Con. Though the trailer did not reveal much about the upcoming season. However, the Markovian threat appears to be the big thing for the forthcoming installment.

Black Lightning Season 3: Different Season

Lately, the cast of Black Lightning also discussed the upcoming season at Comic-Con. Christina Adams, who plays Lynn Stewart told TVLine the fans would not be able to see the characters in their natural environment for some time. They will be totally out of their elements and not just physically. Also, Adams added that the character’s focus is utterly different from season one or two.

Black Lightning Season 3: Plot Details

The second season of Black Lightning saw some significant shifts at the season finale. The end revealed that a severe war is ahead, one that will put Freeland in the firing line as the Markovians put forth their next step. Also, the audience got to know that Agent Odell (Bill Duke) was keeping Khalil’s (Jordan Calloway) body in a pod, for long.

The stars of the series have been quite upfront discussing the forthcoming installment of Black Lightning. According to them, the third season will witness the arrival of a significant DC superhero group. Not just this, Black Lightning Season 3 will also introduce a different Khalil, which would also have an entirely new bad entity.

Agent Odell As Main Villain

As the star hinted, Agent Odell will act as the main villain of Black Lightning Season 3. According to Calloway, “Khalil might go both sides, good or bad. We saw what he was doing under the control of Tobias, and now you add another huge big bad, Agent Odell, the stakes are much higher for him.”
