Coronation Street Star Feels ‘Lucky’ As She Is Now Cancer-Free 

A former Coronation Street star, Victoria Ekanoye, shares the exciting news of beating cancer on social media. The actress was popularised for playing Weatherfield’s Angie Appleton from 2017 to 2019.  She shared her breast cancer diagnosis in the year 2021. However, recently, Victoria posted her PET scans on Twitter, announcing that she is now cancer-free. 

The Coronation Street former posted a picture with her partner Jonny Lomas and son Théo. She wrote, “Just received my blood & PET scan results, I can finally say… I’m CANCER FREE.” She thanked all those who protected her. Ekanoye continued, “I’m humbled to have such beautiful humans in my life. 2024 Let’s go!”

According to reports, Victoria received a double mastectomy earlier after being diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). The Coronation Street star talked about how she sought medical attention the moment she felt a lump in her breast. She even revealed a family history of cancer in her family, including her mother, sister, and more. 

Ekanoye explained that DCIS is basically cells turning cancerous within the milk ducts. The actress expressed her optimism and positivity by asserting that she is grateful to have received an early diagnosis. She added, “I don’t know if lucky is the right word, but that’s how I feel.” We wish her a hearty congratulations and a healthy life ahead.
