Coronation Street: Will Mellor Shares About The ‘Eye Surgery’ And Its Aftermath

Actor Will Mellor recently disclosed that he underwent the ‘life-changing’ eye surgery. We know Will as the villain Harvey Gaskell in Coronation Street. The 47-year-old soap star got his lens replacement surgery after struggling with eye deterioration. He came clean about the need for surgery after realising that his eye health was beginning to affect his emotional well-being. 

The Coronation Street star shared that before the surgery, he couldn’t even read properly. At times, his wife used to read to him. He said, “It’s funny because a couple of days afterward, the eye drops bottle, the writing on it, I couldn’t read the writing before the operation, and then once I had it, I picked it up, and I could read it.”

The actor recalls how he and his wife started jumping around the bedroom to celebrate. He expressed, “She (his wife) was like, “You can see!” The technology nowadays, what they can do in a short space of time, you’re in and out in twenty minutes.”

Labeling the experience ‘life-changing,’ the Coronation Street actor asserted, “The amount of things I probably missed and not being able to see properly over the years that now I don’t miss anymore.” Did you know Will is a part of many successful projects along with Coronation Street?
