TLC's Tom Scandoval

Reality TV star from Vanderpump Rules, Tom Sandoval’s music journey came to a halt on Wednesday night as he and his band, Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras, were eliminated from season 20 of America’s Got Talent. Vanderpump Rules: Simon Cowell Slams Tom Sandoval’s ‘Blinding Lights’ Cover On AGT

Tom Scandoval, Vanderpump Rules alum, has failed to impress Simon Cowell when he pressed red “X” mid-song, declaring, “That did not sound good.” Tom attempted a jazz-rock rendition of The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” opening with a trumpet riff and high-energy dance moves. His performance was praised, but Cowell said his vocals “didn’t sound great.”

Other judges were more positive, though. Modern Family star Sofia Vergara confessed that the vocals “were not amazing,” but found the act “super entertaining.” Howie Mandel praised the group’s fun spirit. Mel B gave a standing ovation, saying, “You make me smile,” while one fan wrote, “Tom brought so much energy, he deserved more credit for that performance.”

Vanderpump Rules: Tom Sandoval Eliminated From America’s Got Talent

Tom Sandoval, a Vanderpump Rules reality star, gave his final performance on Tuesday, which ultimately ended his run on the show. Sandoval and his band gave their first live performance with their version of “Blinding Lights.” Tom promised his fans that they rehearsed “nonstop for over a week,” but their performance has left the judges divided. Simon Cowell hit the  red “X,” bluntly declaring the number “didn’t sound great.”

Sofia Vergara agreed with Cowell’s critique, stating that his performance was “super entertaining,” but the act did not live up to expectations. The other two judges, Mel B and Howie Mandel, praised the band’s energy and dance moves. They stated that they have brought charisma to the stage despite their vocal lapses.

Host Terry Crews delivered the results with suspense. He called forward the acts in pairs to announce who had secured enough votes to move forward. Scandoval and the Most Extras did not move forward, falling short against comedian Shuler King. The band eventually exited the stage quietly, ending their time on the NBC stage.

Near the end, Tom expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, saying the show allowed viewers to see him “differently” in the wake of the Vanderpump Rules scandal that had made headlines the previous year. Meanwhile, four acts from the week advanced to the semifinals, including singer Steve Ray Ladson and trapeze duo Sirca Marea. Vocalist Jourdan Blue and dance group LightWire also advanced. The competition continues next week with a new round of live performances. For all the latest reality TV updates, keep coming back to TV Season & Spoilers.
