Before giving birth to their first child, Erin and Chad faced multiple miscarriages. In April 2025, Erin shared her candid account of her painful journey. She spoke about it in one of her vlogs and revealed that many nights ended in tears during the early days of her marriage. “[Chad and I held] each other as our hearts ached,” she said.

​Erin further added, “We would cry out to God, asking for a baby.” She explained how both of them wondered if they would ever get to hold a little one in their arms. “Heartbreak followed heartbreak, and the waiting felt endless.” In 2015, the couple finally welcomed their first child, Carson. Now they are parents of seven children.

Bringing Up Bates: Chad Shares A Positive Update About Erin’s Condition

Erin Bates from Bringing Up Bates recently gave birth to her seventh child, a boy. The father shared the good news with everyone, but also revealed that Erin’s not keeping well. Erin has gone through major surgeries over time. She faced multiple miscarriages before they welcomed their first baby. During COVID-19, Erin got one of her ovaries removed after she faced major health complications.

​Earlier this month, Chad revealed that she developed a UTI and a kidney infection after giving birth. Because of the infection, she went into septic shock. A few days after that, he revealed that the mother of his children had suffered a long and severe seizure. He wrote, “Up to this point, Erins infection was getting better, but we found ourselves back in a place of heartache, uncertainty, and tears.” Chad further explained how heavy it is to see his wife suffer and added that she is extremely weak.

​Ever since, their fans have been hoping for Erin’s speedy recovery. It seems that their prayers have been answered. Chad took to Instagram and posted a video of Erin holding their newborn boy, Henry. He wrote, “With tears in our eyes, we are praising the Lord that we are on the road to recovery.” Chad further added, “Your prayers have definitely touched heaven.” In the video, Erin was seen kissing Henry and holding him in her arms.
