Rumors that TLC’s “My 600-Lb Life” is being cancelled have been circulating lately. The show, which premiered back in 2012, has since been a fan favourite. Dr. Now of the famed show just announced another series. The show, “The 6000-Lb Diaries,” will air on Lifetime. Producers from TLC introduced a new show called “Dangerously Obese,” which premiered last night. This sparked rumours about the cancellation of the previous show.
Producers packed up season 13 of My 600-Lb Life earlier this year. TLC is yet to make any official announcements about season 14’s renewal. TLC’s newly premiered show, “Dangerously Obese,” follows the identical creative blueprint of My 600-Lb Life. Therefore, fans are questioning TLC about whether that was the end of their favorite show.

This new TLC docuseries premiered on October 22. TLC star surgeon, Dr. Procter, is being featured in the new show. The storyline follows Dr Proctor helping dangerously obese individuals get a healthier life. The premiere episode featured 28-year-old Natalie. She shared about her obesity challenges. Weighing at 655lbs, Natalie was warned by Dr. Procter of a ‘quick death.’ “She does not have long to live,” said Dr. Procter in a confessional.
The 28-year-old broke down after being faced with the harsh reality. Furthermore, Dr. Procter insisted she wouldn’t have a future unless she started taking drastic, really aggressive measures to lose weight. Additionally, he informed her of the elevated risks of a bariatric surgery until her weight decreases below 600lbs in two months. The show’s identical blueprint, similar to My 600-Lb Life, has made it a topic of discussion. Some are calling the show a “spin-off” while many others are calling it a “knock-off” of My 600-Lb Life.
TLC hasn’t made any official announcement for season 14 of My 600-Lb Life. Neither the network nor the show’s producers have announced anything about the show’s cancellation. So, the idea of a renewal still remains unknown. The series starring Dr. Now successfully wrapped up its 13th season earlier this year. Given TLC’s track record, it won’t be unusual if they announce any renewal news just a few days before the premiere.

Dr. Now, who previously starred in the show, recently announced a new series. “The 6000-Lb Diaries,” starring Dr. Now, will air on the Lifetime network. This announcement, incidentally, sparked rumors of the show’s cancellation. Fans started to wonder if the show was being cancelled without the show’s widely beloved star surgeon. On the other hand, came TLC’s announcement of a new show totally identical to My 600-Lb Life.
The only difference between the two shows is the different star surgeons. TLC’s launch of a ‘replacement’ show, coupled with Dr. Now changing networks, might be hints of the show’s ending. The online forums are overflowing with buzz from bewildered fans. However, there is no official announcement from either the network or the producers.
The pre-show reviews of the new show seem satisfactory. Viewers can stream the new show on TLC. For more such latest reality TV updates, stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers.
