‘My 600 Lb Life’ Replaced By New TLC Show ‘Dangerously Obese’?

Fans worried if TLC was canceling My 600 Lb Life to replace it with a new show, Dangerously Obese. They pondered whether the hit show would return with Season 14, since Dr. Now is a great man and a doctor. He helped many of his patients lose weight. Since viewers watched the Season 13 finale in early 2025, it’s common for the channel to renew.

Dangerously Obese is successfully getting views. The stars featured in the show having emotional breakdowns due to their morbid obesity are heartbreaking. Consulting a doctor for the first time has made them realize how close they are to death. Dr. Procter is the primary doctor who advised them to undergo bariatric surgery.

Dr. Now Turning 80 Might Have Restricted Him From Rejoining ‘My 600 Lb Life!’

My 600 Lb Life’s Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, or better known as Dr. Now, has officially entered in 80s. While at 81, he is actively working to improve the health of his obese patients, he would surely have some health problems of his own. Even though he is a fit person, he has no mood to slow down. He continued to practice bariatric surgery at Houston Obesity Surgery.

Dr. is now also affiliated with numerous other hospitals. He has the determination to push his patients to meet their goal weight. Apart from filming for TLC content, he collaborated with Lifetime to bring a new show titled The 6000 Lb Diaries with Dr. Now. A few months ago, he had to dispel his death rumors. Someone on Facebook created fake stories about his death.

Will TLC Renew ‘My 600 Lb Life’ For Another Season?

My 600 Lb Life’s future is unknown to fans since TLC is keeping a low profile about it. The staple show has given so much inspiration to people watching as the stars start their weight-loss journey. It always starred Dr. Now from 2013. After so many seasons and repeated telecasts, the series deserved the respect it would get by being brought back.

Still now, TLC is tight-lipped about whether they have any plans to execute Season 14 or if they have replaced it with Dangerously Obese. As the official announcement is pending, one can also assume that they have completely scraped it from the list. If it gets a red light, fans will grow frustrated with the sudden change.

Netizens have already questioned Dr. Now. The future of reality TV is uncertain, and it is speculated that the show might have concluded. Amidst the silence, a new development could be happening. TLC has a habit of announcing new seasons weeks before premiering the first episode or dropping the trailer. Hence, Season 14 is yet a possibility, which could again put Dr. Now in the spotlight.

Some of the changes from Dr. Now’s side might have led to TLC canceling their old installation with him. He has switched networks after all. Since he now appears on Lifetime, TLC suggested ending My 600 Lb Life with Dangerously Obese. He could also be bored with the same storylines, so the channel handed them over to Dr. Procter.
