Sister Wives viewers have watched the way Mykelti used to be the peace maker of the Brown family since the beginning. She wanted her kids to have a relationship with her father and decided to have a cordial bond with Kody. But now the tables have completely turned. Tony recently talked about how Kody’s image has been “morphed” on the show, and he was no longer the same.

Mykelti noted, “That Kody Brown is ‘Kody Brown from Sister Wives.’ That is not Kody Brown, my dad.” She explained how it was really difficult to watch Kody having certain fights and arguments, and she wasn’t really able to understand them. Apparently, Mykelti made it clear that Kody Brown wasn’t the same person she’d been raised with, and things were really different now.

Sister Wives fans are well aware of how Kody Brown has a nonexistent relationship with most of his adult kids. But Mykelti Padron is now talking about why it is the way it is. In a recent Tell All Patreon Q&A, she sat down with Christine and David to discuss how Kody Brown has been on thin ice with most of his adult kids. She claimed that her father made his kids “earn” his love, and that it was never really handed to them on a silver platter.  

Mykelti believes that Kody used to love them only when they were kids, and he became really calculating when they grew up. She explained how things changed when they got older, as Kody’s love became “conditional” for them. Mykelti felt that his love depended on how much kids used to respect him and how willing they were to give up what he wanted them to!

David was in disbelief after learning that the Brown kids had to “earn” Kody’s love. He noted that Kody should actually be thankful for the fact that he had kids rather than making them earn his love. But here comes the real thing. Apparently, Kody used to give his daughters a Claddagh ring when they reached their teenage years. But Mykelti claimed that she had to “earn” that as well, and she ended up buying it for herself.
