A few weeks ago, Teen Mom alum Kailyn Lowry spoke out after people accused her of using help to raise her seven kids. She posted a TikTok video addressing the situation. “Y’all love to say that I don’t raise my kids,” the mother of seven said. Kail further explained that she does have childcare. She admitted, “I have help from 8 to 4, Monday through Friday. These are traditional working hours.”

Lowry stated that many parents put their kids in daycare from 9 to 5, while others hire a babysitter. She added that she does the same thing. Kail said that sometimes she calls a babysitter, but she spends most of her time with her kids. “I do not have a live-in nanny,” she emphasized. She urged her followers not to discredit what she does for her kids.

Verse and Valley played with a toy tiger and grabbed cupcakes. Kailyn also added a voiceover to the video, sharing that motherhood is the biggest blessing of her life.

She said, “Not the loudest. Not the easiest, but the kind that wraps itself around your heart and never lets go.” Kail further noted that she blinked, and her newborn turned into a toddler. She said her kids used to reach for her with their tiny hands and sleepy eyes, but now they run around, needing her a little less. “I know that’s the goal—to raise you up, not hold you back,” she added.

However, she said that some days she misses the weight of her son pressed against her chest. Furthermore, Lowry added that she misses all the firsts—whether it was the first giggle, the first steps, or the first time her twins said ‘mama,’ she misses them all. Still, every phase brought its own ‘kind of magic,’ she said. The mother of seven admitted that motherhood ‘stretched’ and ‘changed’ her, but it also made her ‘softer.’

Kailyn further added that one day her kids will be all grown up and too cool for bedtime kisses and Saturday morning pancakes, but she will never stop showing up. “I’ll never stop being your safe place because being your mom is the kind of blessing that only grows with time,” she said.
