From its start, Doubling Down With The Derricos featured parents who have fun, tender, and chaotic moments while raising their 14 children. With 14 children to raise, including quintuplets, triplets, and two sets of twins, each season was a joy to watch. In the earlier seasons, the viewers watched the parents, Dean and Karen, handle surgery for their youngest child, quintuplets hitting double digits, and bouts of “Derrico OCD” as the teenage Derrico took over the house.

The reality show took viewers through the struggles of parenting and maintaining a household of 14 children. The latter series documented much bigger changes in the family. The Derricos moving into a fixer-upper home, a hospital emergency during a family trip, and losing a child were among the many emotional moments during the show. There was also the divorce of Dean and Karen, which occurred in 2024 after 19 years of marriage. The Derrico family has experienced its share of ups and downs over the past five years.

Doubling Down With The Derricos: A New Beginning & The End of The Journey With TLC!

Dean Derrico took to social media to announce a new show with a different network. It is a brand new beginning for ‘Doubling Down With The Derricos’ after five wonderful years with TLC. The father of 14 made the news public with “#TheDERRICOs are officially free agents and meeting with other networks for our new upcoming season of TheDERRICOs,” as the caption. It seems like a super new direction for the show, and fans are loving it.

The video started with Dean saying, “Guess what today is?” In an accompanying video, he said, “It is officially the day that the Derricos are no longer signed with TLC. We have no obligation to TLC as of today. I have been waiting all this time to share this with you all. I am super excited”. He also confirmed that TLC was not canceling the show. Instead, it was a decision made by the family.  

The Doubling Down With The Derricos star added that the show was being scouted by “other networks” and that the family is in talks with them. This hints at a possible change in how the show functions, but it’s too soon to speculate. And before any hateful comment could be made about TLC, he clarified that “TLC was great.”

Dean continued, “We love TLC, we still love TLC, we still want to watch TLC. We just won’t be watching Doubling Down With the Derricos on TLC.” He reiterated that there was no falling out.
