Sister Wives star Kody Brown seems to be very protective of his family (his selective family). From time to time, he has mentioned that his family matters most to him. He says he would do anything to protect them, or even make them do anything to protect themselves. Recently, the reality TV star revealed that he wants his only wife to ‘retire’ from the show.
The reason is concerning, as he thinks the TV industry is not just challenging, but also ‘dangerous for loving families.’ So instead of taking other actions, he wants to retire his wife to keep love within their family. What else did he say? Keep reading to find out!
TLC posted a sneak peek video in which Sister Wives star Janelle Brown said Kody Brown did not want to take care of his family after he turned 50. In the confessional, she said she does not see Kaleb or Mich saying, “Oh, I’m done, can you guys just figure it out? It’s too much responsibility.” However, on the other hand, Kody complains to his whole family, “Oh, I’m tired of the burden, it’s aging me.”
In response, Kody said he had never shirked his responsibilities in the family. He claimed he was always there and gave 100% every time, but never got it back from his family. Kody added, “All right, guess we all go through menopause together.” He further explained that there is such a thing as “male menopause,” when testosterone drops and a man just doesn’t want to do any challenging work.
Recently, Kody and the other four finalists of Special Forces Season 4 reunited on The Vail Files podcast. During the podcast, the host asked him about his thoughts on TV’s impact on his three marriages, which ultimately failed. The father of 18 claimed that many factors led to the divorces. However, he really worries that this industry might impact his and Robyn’s marriage.
“It’s a challenge to be in reality TV. I’d like to retire my wife Robyn from television so they can’t pit us against each other now,” Kody said. He added that this industry is hazardous for loving families, as they encounter friction, grind, and tension. The reality TV star said that people must stay very well-grounded. “I’m just trying to still find my way in this world because it’s definitely a world of he said, she said, and it’s hard to feel accountable,” he exclaimed.
Kody also insisted that his relationship with Robyn is ‘solid.’ He mentioned that the rest of his Special Forces castmates had heard so much about her from him. “I like to talk about my wife, who is shy [and] doesn’t want me talking about her, but you know, [she’s] my favorite person in the world,” he said. During an interview with Decider, he admitted that Robyn is the one who protects him from his critics.
Kody noted that his ‘running his big mouth’ makes her say things like, “He’s not abusive. He’s a really nice guy.” He added that his only wife was “embarrassed” to see him compete on the show. The reality TV star explained that she didn’t like how his fellow competitors treated him, because she’s very protective of him. “I had to leave her home because I didn’t want her to get on anybody’s case about it,” he explained.
