She explained that her approach to polygamy was spiritual, as she felt it was her “life path.” While discussing her first interaction with Kody, she revealed that she did not approach him for polygamy at first but was “intrigued” by his personality. The reality TV star further added that her mother was certain she did not want her daughter to enter a polygamous marriage.

“My mom came to save me from the polygamists, because no daughter of hers was going to marry some into crazy cult,” she said. Janelle explained that her mother’s marriage to Kody’s dad baffled everyone. But she eventually came to terms with her decision.
