In late 2022, he and his wife, Julie, were sentenced to 12 and 7 years in federal prison for various federal counts. However, in May 2025, after spending 28 months in prison, President Donald Trump granted the couple a presidential pardon.
By May 28th, Julie and Todd were out of prison. Since then, Todd has discussed his time in jail many times. Although nothing about their darkest time was pleasant, the couple spoke openly about it. A few weeks ago, Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd and Julie discussed their prison experiences. Todd admitted that he violated several rules while in prison. However, he assured everyone that he alone was at fault, as Julie had followed all the rules. Todd also shared that he had many food options to choose from while incarcerated.
According to the reality TV star, he had access to food items such as chicken fila, Pizza Hut, and others. However, for Julie, the situation was very different. She admitted she did not have the opportunity to make a phone call, nor did she eat any street food while behind bars. The couple admitted they experienced very different things in prison.
Chrisley Knows Best star Todd Chrisley recently shared an Instagram post announcing a significant update on a civil rights lawsuit. “UPDATE: I received an important update this morning about a civil rights lawsuit connected to FPC Pensacola.” He further asked his followers to contact him if they had faced any abuse in prison.
“If you experienced abuse involving Mandy Ramsey, Dennis N. Profitt, Janet A. Gignilliant, or Sherri Silsbury, please reach out to me,” he wrote. Furthermore, Chrisley added that the victims are not alone and that he will ensure their privacy is protected. “The details will be shared only with the legal team handling the case,” he added.
In the caption, he wrote that the abuse handed out at FPC Pensacola by the mentioned individuals is unprecedented. “I hope our judicial system gets it right this time and they are forced to pay every man they abused emotionally and psychologically,” Todd said. He further added that he looks forward to walking this path with each and every brother of his. “See you b!tches in court,” he concluded.
