Sister Wives stars have showcased their lives for a long time on screen and shared their ups and downs with the public during this time. On January 15, Christine revealed that she is grieving a loss in her family. She made an official announcement through her social media and stated that it was her father, Rex, who had passed away. The reality TV star shared the news along with an old childhood photo of her with her father.
Christine also opened up about what she was going through when her father was ill, but before she could share them, she suffered a big loss. Rex Clark Allred was 78 when he passed away on January 8, 2026, in Rocky Ridge, Utah. Many fans resonated with her during this tough time, and messages of love came in. How did this loss affect her healing process? And what did her message truly reveal about her bond with her father? Keep on reading to know more.

Christine’s father, Rex Allred, made his last appearance at Christine and David Woolley’s wedding, which was shown in one of the episodes. Christine’s mother, Ruth Anne Stevens, also attended the ceremony and reunited with her ex, Rex, for the sake of the family. Christine and her mother were also not on speaking terms, as Christine was embarrassed to leave her side after her divorce. Ruth Anne left Rex and their polygamous ways just like Christine did in her latter life.
Kody often referenced Christine’s “royal” status within the Apostolic United Brethren (AUB). Christine’s grandfather, Rulon C. Allred, founded the AUB in 1961 and served as one of its most influential leaders. At its peak in the late 1990s, the church had hundreds of followers who practiced polygamy. Rex later left his leadership role in the AUB, but still practiced polygamy.
As mentioned before, Sister Wives star Christine confirmed her father’s passing through a social media post and a heartfelt caption. She explained that she had started writing about him while he was still alive. But he passed away before she could share her thoughts with the world. Despite the loss, she decided to post this anyway. Christine spoke about “anticipatory grief” and how losing someone can start way before their death.
She stated that her father had been ill for years and that this had slowly changed her relationship with him. Things like driving together or late-night food runs became memories that she would cherish forever. She reflected on missing the man he once was before getting ill and felt bad that she wouldn’t be able to share more memories. At the same time, Christine admitted feeling guilty for grieving while her father was still alive.
She felt that the emotional weight of loving someone while knowing they will be gone soon was a lot. As soon as the fans got to know about Christine’s loss, they gave their condolences. Many felt bad for Christine for her loss and could relate to their own recent loss in their family. For the latest Sister Wives tea, stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers.
