He performed bariatric surgery on her after she called it quits with sodies which she loved the most. Season 8 has introduced a lighter Brittany to fans on screen. Her husband can now lift her up.

   

Dr. Smith is Tammy and Amy’s family doctor and also serves their siblings. The sisters’ weight loss journey wasn’t easy because they suffered from morbid obesity since their childhood. While Tammy has completed her last goal by dropping 560 pounds, Amy has regained weight but is following a healthy diet nowadays. Amanda, Misty, and Chris similarly weigh less these days because Dr. Smith guided them properly.

1000 Lb Sisters: Dr. Smith Elaborates On Successful Plastic Surgery Process, Gives 3 Important Tips!

Dr. Smith demonstrated the correct methods for plastic surgery. In an Instagram post, he detailed the proper surgical process. Since he has been helping thousands of his patients, he told fans that the first step toward skin removal surgery is a weight-loss procedure. The clip included flashbacks of Chris and Tammy in their past checkups episode of 1000 Lb Sisters.

Dr. Smith pointed out that anyone can lose weight before surgery if the proper procedure is followed. The three key rules Dr. Smith urged everyone to keep in mind are to find a board-certified plastic surgeon, have healthy habits, and prioritize nutrition. Also, he said that preparing mentally would accelerate healing after surgery.

Recently, Dr. Smith took to his Instagram to share his insights into the real world of obesity. After fans told him that 1000 Lb Sisters star Brittany didn’t need bariatric surgery for weight loss, he gave them a science-backed answer. He uploaded a video to explain every bit of how things work for obese patients. 

The surgeon informed fans that bariatric surgery isn’t just for extreme cases like Tammy. When someone reaches the class 2 or 3 stages of obesity, they are usually considered a candidate for surgery. Beyond what TV showed for years about morbid obesity or obesity, he clarified that it never showed how long-term success is achieved. 

Diet and exercise work upto 1% in cases of those who suffer from PCOS, sleep apnea, and diabetes. Hence, Brittany chose to go the surgical path in order to relieve herself from a lifetime of medications and bring high spikes of diabetes under control. She also wanted to build a family with Chris someday.

Brittany didn’t see how much she had gained on the weight machine, but her overall well-being led her to have the surgery. Dr. Eric announced in his post, “Obesity treatment is about health, longevity, and getting your life back.” Fans are glad that he explained it in a nice way.
