As Season 1 wrapped up with a couple of episodes on family matters and legal troubles, fans are still waiting for the show’s renewal. Lifetime so far hasn’t announced its decision on whether to renew its contract with the Chrisley fandom board. Hence, it’s unclear whether the network is in the process of approving another season for the docuseries – the future looms in darkness.

A year has passed since Todd and Julie have settled down again with Savannah and their other kids, but prison still haunts them. In a recent episode of Savannah’s Unlocked podcast, the married couple of 30 years showed up for another fresh round of interviews with their daughter. The Chrisley Knows Best alum Todd called his relationship with his wife funnier now. 

“I think there’s more humor involved in it,” the 57-year-old husband set the record straight as to where his marriage with Julie stands. She recalled how there was a huge emotional burden in their hearts for 10 years or more before they surrendered to their individual federal prison facilities. They dealt with one problem or another every day, but they are all now light on them.

Their marriage has a lightness, and their perspective on it has shifted. Previously, Todd and Julie thought their marriage was all about family. However, they only see it as the two of them. When the couple merged their marriage with the family, the picture got very blurred. They have a clearer vision of what their marriage is and what it will be.

Todd and Julie married in 1996, and their prison sentences left them without communication. They were only writing emails to each other through someone who was infrequent.
