Right from its first release, Assassins Pride has earned itself a loyal fanbase. After its intense finale, we are all waiting for the renewal of a sequel. However, despite heavy demands, Studio EMT Squared is yet to wave the green flag. Well, that doesn’t confirm the anime’s cancelation either. In fact, the chances for the return of Assassins Pride Season 2 are currently quite high. What’s in the future of the fantasy series? Here are all the details you need to know.
Assassins Pride was initially a very popular light novel series written by Kei Amagi and illustrated by Nino Ninomoto. It began serialization in January 2016 and has continued for a total of twelve volumes (alongside two short stories as well), as of June 2020. The initial volumes of the LV received much appreciation from fans and critics alike. Hence, it was soon adapted into a manga adaptation and a television anime by Studio EMT Squared.
Will The Studio Renew Assassins Pride Season 2 Or Not?
The fantasy anime series debuted on Japanese televisions back in October 2019 and completed its run by December of that year. The first season created a lot of buzz amongst the masses. However, as the series continued, the audience was disappointed with the plot development. Hence, the critics and viewers gave low ratings to the anime on major review platforms like IMDb and MyAnimelist. Yet, a lot of fans seemed to connect with the storyline and enjoyed the animation.
Thus, the demands for a second run are quite high. However, neither of the anime’s producers has confirmed Assassins Pride Season 2. Well, it has only been a little over one year since the series last released. Hence, there’s still hope for its return. In comparison to other television shows, anime usually take longer to come back. Previously, even well-known anime like Attack On Titan and One-Punch Many have had significant hiatuses between seasons.

Does EMT Squared Have Enough Content For A Sequel?
A lot of anime adaptations fail to survive due to the lack of source material. Fortunately, there is currently enough content for the studio to adapt in Assassins Pride Season 2. However, the anime initially suffered from the same issue. When the first season ended, the Assassins Pride light novel series only had eight volumes. Besides, Season 1 has covered the first five LN volumes already.
Luckily, author Kei Amagi continued to write more volumes of his popular light novels. As of June 2020, a total of twelve volumes have already been launched alongside two side stories. Thus, the studio now has more than enough source material for a sequel. Like before, the series will cover the next five volumes, and it might also include some chapters that the first season skipped.
Assassins Pride Season 2: Release Date
Anime series usually take a couple of years to return. Their production runs quite long as the animation process is time taking. Given that EMT Squared has not greenlit Assassins Pride Season 2, the new episodes might not hit the screens anytime before mid to late 2022. In fact, if the renewal does not arrive on time, the waiting time will extend. As of now, we can only hope that we get to watch the installment as soon as possible.
