The story of the series revolves around F-Ranker Ikki Kurogane. He is challenged to a mock duel with A-Ranker Stella Vermillion upon walking in on her while she was changing in his room. After the duel, the two of them become roommates and training partners attempting to compete in the annual Seven Star Sword Art Festival.
The debut season of the animated series left us hanging on a major cliffhanger. It ended with Ikki and friends joining the art festival.
