Show producer Ufotable announced a sequel film instead of Demon Slayer Season 2. The movie will be called Demon Slayer: Demon Train Arc or Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-Hen. It was announced right after the anime series concluded airing in Japan. Besides, it is expected to follow the ‘Infinite Train’ story arc from the seventh volume of the original manga series.
The Demon Slayer movie will continue the plot of the anime series where it left in the last episode. In the episode, our main characters boarded the infinite train. Tanjiro Kamado and the demon loli, his sister Nezuko will now begin their new mission in Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-Hen. The main characters of the anime will return along with the director of the first season, Haruo Sotozaki. On the other hand, character designer Akira Matsushima will be back as well.
As of now, Ufotable has announced that Demon Slayer: Demon Train Arc will hit the screens in the fourth quarter of next year in Japan. However, an exact date is yet to be discussed. Fans may have to wait for an entire year as the Demon Slayer movie may not premiere anytime earlier than the end of 2020. Will ‘Demon Slayer Season 2’ Ever Return?
It’s been a while since the first season of the anime series ended. Fans are now eager to know if Demon Slayer Season 2 will ever premiere at the screens. The story of the popular anime series revolves around a kindhearted and intelligent boy, Tanjirō Kamado. He lives with his family in Taishō-era and is the sole source of income. However, his life falls apart when a demon attacks and slaughters his family. Tanjirō survives the incident though, his sister Nezuka is transformed into a demon. Surprisingly, she still possesses human emotions and thought.
The plot forwards as he meets a demon slayer, Giyu Tomioka, who recruits him to become a demon slayer as well. Tanjirō intends to helo his sister to turn human again and avenge the deaths of his family. As of the end of Season 1, Tanjirō and Nezuka are still attempting to retaliate the incident as they climb the infinite train.
The Demon Slayer movie will feature the plot revolving around the demon train arc. Hence, Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 will resume the story as per the end of the film. The new installment will feature Tanjirō and Nezuka on another mission after the infinite train. While the exact mission is still unknown, it’s clear that Demon Slayer Season 2 will be a direct continuation of the movie.
