Crunchyroll gave us all the biggest surprise ever! Dr. Stone Season 2 is officially renewed to return on the screens. The debut season of the post-apocalyptic anime series recently ended, and fans had just started to wonder about a sequel. Well, now that the series is confirmed, here are all the details you need to know about it. But be aware, major spoilers ahead!
Dr. Stone is a popular manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. Upon its debut in March 2017, the manga became an instant hit with its unique storyline. Hence, it’s fame helped the anime adaption bring in millions of viewers to watch the pilot episode back in July 2019. In fact, it soon became an instant hit on Crunchyroll with positive reviews from critics and fans alike.

Dr. Stone Season 2: Renewal & Teaser

Showrunners recently waved the green flag for the most-awaited second season of the anime. The news came through its official social media platforms, declaring that Dr. Stone Season 2 will soon arrive on our screens again. On December 22, 2019, Crunchyroll released an unexpected promo of Dr. Stone Season 2. The updated and extended PV of the second installment looks back on the debut season of the anime. It reminds fans that we’re heading straight towards the Stone Wars. However, we also get to know that Senku is totally ready for the fight.

Previously, the platform also released the brand-new anime key visual of Dr. Stone Season 2. The picture was uploaded on Dr. Stone’s official Twitter account. It features Senku in winter clothes with the cell phone that he made in the first season and new equipment called ‘flash ball’ and ‘black light.’ The key visual also sports the title of the upcoming installment, ‘Stone Wars.’

Dr. Stone Season 1: Finale 

The critically-acclaimed anime series is a unique approach to the good-old mad scientist trope. Dr. Stone’s story introduces us to lead characters Taiju Ooki and Senku Ishigami. Just when Taiju begins to confess his love to his classmate Yuzuriha Ogawa, a blinding green light strikes the Earth. It petrifies mankind all around the world and turns every single human into stone. However, around 3700 years later, Taiju and Senku wake up to find the world completely nonexistent while nature still flourishes. Meanwhile, Senku develops a grand scheme to revive the petrified civilization.

The finale episode of Dr. Stone’s debut season aired on December 13, 2019. It covered the 59th and 60th chapters of the manga volumes. Towards the last few moments, Senku and the villagers finally communicate to Byakuya using the cell phones across the wire. Sith the support from the villagers, Senku eventually decides a stone war against Tsukasa.
Dr. Stone’s final episode turned out to be a hit for the studio. It managed to gather a large number of fans from around the globe. What Will Happen In Dr. Stone Season 2? Spoilers!

As the title of the new season suggests, Dr. Stone Season 3 will be based on the Stone War between Senku’s Kingdom of Science and Tsukasa’s Kingdom of Might. The story will pick up from the 61st chapter of the manga series called ‘Stone Wars Begins.’ Well, this will be a tough fight for both sides. The biggest threat to Senku’s side is a man named Hyoga in Tsukasa’s army. He is the toughest fighters in the village. Besides, Hyoga believes that the brainless incompetent masses should die and has no problem in killing humans.

Hyoga has a larger force and is ready to use his soldiers has sacrificial pawns. He also has strong battle tactics. However, his army is weaponless as of now. On the other hand, Senku has strong tempered Japanese swords back to this stone world, which gives him some privilege. Besides, he has bluffed Hyoga into believing that he has recreated guns and chemical weapons. This could help Senku and his army for the Stone Wars in Dr. Stone Season 2.
