After an excruciatingly long wait, we finally see some hope for Hinamatsuri Season 2. The anime came out three years ago in 2018. Yet, creators of the show haven’t ordered a second installment. As soon as the eighteenth manga volume comes out, Studio Feel will finally have enough source material to create the sequel anime. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Studio Feel’s highly rated anime debuted in Japan back in 2018. It received international acclaim after its release on Netflix. The series became an instant hit, and fans began to demand a second season. As of now, it has already been two years, and the studio is yet to wave the green flag. With every passing day, Hinamatsuri’s loyal fanbase is getting more and more impatient.
Volume 18 Release: Delayed!
Hinamatsuri originated as a seinen manga series written and illustrated by Masao Ōtake. As of early 2020, the mangaka has published a total of 17 volumes. The most recent one, Volume 17, came out on September 14, 2019. The manga is currently in the run may continue for several volumes in the future. As of now, fans are waiting for Volume 18, which was assumed to be releasing in March 2020.
The last few manga volumes of the series have been following a release pattern for a few years. Mangaka Masao Otake publishes two volumes every year. While one of these volumes comes out in March, the second one return in September. Hence, fans were expecting Volume 18 and 19 to follow the release pattern as well. However, we’re past March 2020, and neither the mangaka nor its publisher has confirmed the release of Volume 18.
One of the main reasons behind the delay might be the recent Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The tragic global pandemic has affected almost all businesses, including the entertainment industry. Hence, the publishing of Hinamatsuri Volume 18 might be stalled until the tension reduces. However, once the manga volume comes out, Hinamatsuri Season 3 may get into productions as well.

Will ‘Hinamatsuri Season 2’ Ever Come Out?
The first season of the popular anime ran for 12 episodes from April through June 2018. The installment consumed the plot of the first nine manga volumes. The finale episodes of the anime ended with Chapter 47 of Volume 9. However, the series has skipped in a bunch of chapters out of those 47 chapters. In total, the anime series skips 19 chapters and covers only 28 chapters as reported by Anime Daily.
Well, it is expected that Hinamatsuri Season 2 may cover another nine volumes of the manga i.e., Volume 10 through 18. Whereas, like the first season, Studio Feel may skip several chapters from these volumes as well. Therefore, one of the main reasons behind the stalling of Hinamatsuri Season 3 is the delayed release of Volume 18.
On the other hand, it has only been two years since the first season. Unlike US TV shows, it’s common for anime series to have long gaps between seasons. In fact, some sequels can take four to five years to return, like One-Punch Man and Log Horizon. Hence, it’s not unusual if Studio Feel takes a while to formulate a plan.
Whereas, the studio may not cancel a successful show just yet. Hinamatsuri turned out to be one of its most profitable production. Hence, Studio Feel may not lose an opportunity to release another season of the anime. Looking at the popularity of the series and its critical acclaim, chances of its return will always remain positive.
Besides, fans will never stop demanding more episodes to watch. As of now, thousands of people have signed different petitions for the renewal of Hinamatsuri Season 3. Well, as long as the demand stays high, the studio would not cancel the anime considering that it has heavy potential.
Hinamatsuri Season 2: Three Year Time Leap [SPOILERS]
The latest season of Feel’s comedy anime is set to take a three-year-long time leap this season. As per the plot of Volume 10 and ahead, the story will begin as Nitta and Hina move into a new neighborhood as father and daughter. Hina is now a high school student and will soon pick up a part-time job as well. Whereas, Nitta will attempt to hide being a yakuza thug from society while picking up the role of a single father.
However, things will get crazy when Hina meets her prospective boyfriend, Hitoshi Maeda, who is also the son of a yakuza. Hinamatsuri Season 2 Release Date
As of now, creators of the anime aren’t ready to make another season. Hence, it’s hard to predict a release date without a renewal.
