It’s been a while since the last season of the anime released. Yet, fans can’t control but ask for more. As of now, Madhouse is yet to confirm Hunter X Hunter Season 7. Hunter X Hunter originated as a manga series by Yoshihiro Togashi, years ago, in early 1998. As of today, a total of thirty-six volumes have been published, consisting of 380 chapters. Its first anime adaptation came out in 1999 and concluded shortly after. The second anime adaptation was a reboot of the first one and narrated the story from the first chapter of the manga. Madhouse’s Hunter X Hunter anime came out in 2011 and ran for six long seasons until 2014. Fans have been waiting for the seventh installment ever since.
Hunter X Hunter Ends On Toonami!
After its Japan telecast from 2011 to 2014, the anime went into a prolonged hiatus. As a relief for the fans, Toonami began airing the English dubbed version from April 2016. After the long run, the sixth season came to an end on the television channel as well. Dedicated viewers got emotional alongside the voice cast of the show. After the premiere of the last episode, cast members and fans bid their goodbyes to the classic anime.
Now that the series has ended on Toonami as well, the demand for a seventh season has significantly increased. Viewers are still looking for answers about whether they’ll ever be able to watch Hunter X Hunter Season 7 or not. However, based on how the cast members and show creators reacted, chances remain grim for its future.

Will “Hunter X Hunter Season 7” Ever Come Out?
As per the current circumstances, chances are pretty low for the renewal of Hunter X Hunter Season 7. However, there’s no need to lose hope just yet. Due to its years-long run on Toonami, the anime has remained to be in the talks. Its Japan telecast back in 2011 was already pretty profitable for the producers. Fortunately, its telecast on Toonami turned out to be much more successful than the initial one. Due to its consistent popularity, Madhouse may pick it up for a seventh installment.
Although Studio Madhouse has been quite busy for the last few years. The animation studio produced several anime series and films last year and has a tight schedule for the upcoming year. Yet, if the situation permits, the producers may find time for Hunter X Hunter Season 7. The only reason behind the hiatus is the lack of source material. Once they have enough content to wrap up another story arc, Madhouse may confirm the renewal of the seventh season.
Manga Revival By Yoshihiro Togashi
The Hunter X Hunter manga series is always surrounded by controversies due to prolonged hiatuses in-between volumes. The original creator Yoshihiro Togashi has been criticized for his delayed work by fans on the internet. Sadly, a large section of his fanbase does not know that the mangaka has been unwell for a long time now. He is suffering from severe mental health issues that have affected his work.
The author had been under pressure due to constant work and cancerous Japanese work ethics. As of now, the mangaka is still trying to recover both physically and mentally, and may not pick up huge projects for a while. Although back in 2018, the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced the return of the Hunter X Hunter manga series with its 35th volume. Another manga volume came out towards the end of 2018.
In an interview, Yoshihiro Togashi confirmed that he intends to complete his manga series. He added that either the story will complete first or he’d die before that happens. Sources say that he has asked his wife (the creator of Sailor Moon), to finish his story after his death. The legendary author does not want to leave his fanbase disappointed.
The first six installments of the anime adaptation cover the plot of 339 chapters of the manga series. The finale episodes of the sixth season (Episode 148) concluded the Election arc from Volume 30 through 32. Hence, the studio now has the remaining four manga volumes to create Hunter X Hunter Season 7. While four volumes may sound enough to create a full season, it does not complete the Dark Continent arc. Hence, the fans will have to wait until the mangaka releases some more chapters.
Hunter X Hunter Season 7: Release Date
As of now, Studio Madhouse is yet to renew the much-awaited Hunter X Hunter Season 7. However, according to speculations, any new episodes may not arrive anytime sooner than 2021. We will update this section as soon as any official news comes out.
