Isshiki Otsutsuki came back to life through a weaker vessel, and he only had a few hours of life. He had lost his prime vessel, Kawaki, in the process. Isshiki attacked Konoha in order to bring Kawaki and put Karma on him again.
Boruto Chapter 55: Is Naruto Dead?
Hokage Naruto and Sasuke are sent to a different dimension so as to prevent damage in the Leaf Village. After this, we witness a massive battle. In order to fight Isshiki as an equal, Kurama suggests Naruto to activate the Fusion. They both finally end up making a fusion of each other’s Chakra. This leads to a massive power-up in Naruto, which goes beyond his abilities to handle.
While this power surge makes Naturo match to the level of Isshiki, it also decreases his life force. We see that the fusion chakra ultimately kills Isshiki, but it also weakens our hero to his core.
