Fortunately, there’s some good news for fans! Monster Musume will soon add another volume to its manga series. Waiting for four years for Season 2 wasn’t easy. Well, the new volume finally gives us hope for a second installment to return on television. Creators will now have enough content to make more seasons of the anime adaptation. Are you excited? New Manga Series Volume
Written and illustrated by Okayado, Monster Musume is a popular Japanese manga series. Back in 2012, its first volume was published in Japan by Tokuma Shoten in their Monthly Comic Ryū magazine. Whereas it was then published in the United States by Seven Seas Entertainment. The manga series has its chapters collected and reprinted into 14 volumes. However, we will soon have another one adding to the list.
According to Seven Seas Entertainment’s official website, fans will have a brand-new volume of the manga series. While the volume is already released in Japan back on June 13, 2019, it will soon arrive in the United States as well. It is set to release on December 17, 2019.
Previously, two or three volumes of the manga series used to get published altogether. However, due to Okayado’s mental health issues, we only got one last year. As of now, the manga has resumed publishing with another volume this year, as well. Besides, since we now have enough volumes left to cover in the anime adaptation, we may soon get Monster Musume Season 2 back on television.
Is Monster Musume Season 2 Confirmed?
In 2015, the anime adaptations debuted in Japan on AT-X, and later broadcasted on Tokyo MX, and other Japanese TV channels. The story of the manga series revolves around a Japanese student, Kimihito Kurusu. As he gets involved with the “Interspecies Cultural Exchange” program, his life is eventually thrown into turmoil. Besides, a series of strange things begin to happen to him.
Fans have been waiting to watch more of the anime series. However, we haven’t heard anything major about it from the production team. Although the makers dropped a heavy hint in an episode of the first season. A scene featured “NIKI KETTEI” written in the background. It means that Monster Musume Season 2 is confirmed. However, that was the only significant information about the same. Yet, according to speculations, productions on the installment may have already begun.
The fourteen volumes of the manga series are a collection of 62 chapters. The first installment of the anime series covered 1-16, and 18-25 chapters of the original manga. Whereas, two of its OVAs (Original Animated Video) tell the story of chapters 17 and 18. Hence, the creators still have a lot of content to make more of the anime adaptation. In fact, since we now have a new volume, Monster Musume Season 2 has a lot of story to tell.
