Good news for all anime fans! We finally see hope for Noragami Season 3 to return. The popular manga series, Noragami Aragoto, is highly popular amongst the masses. Henceforth, its anime adaptation created as much buzz as possible upon its debut back in January 2014. Similarly, the second installment of the show performed equally well, hence leaving the fans craving for more. Will there be another season? When will it release?
Ever since the second installment debuted back in 2015, we haven’t heard anything major about Narogami Season 3. However, the series may finally be returning after almost five years. The makers previously gave a couple of reasons for why Season 3 is on hold. As of now, we finally have the answers. Here’s everything to know.
New Narogami Aragoto Manga Volume
Narogami originated as a manga series back in 2011, and as of December 2019, it has a total of twenty tankōbon volumes. It is written and illustrated by Adachitoka and published by Kodansha. After running successfully until February 2017, the manga series took a long hiatus until August 2018. Yet, it soon picked up its pace with another volume earlier this year in February 2019.
However, most of the fans in the US do not know that Volume 21 of the manga series is already launched in Japan. The last one got published in October 2019 and will soon arrive in the states as well. The English version is planned to release on March 10, 2020.
Will Noragami Season 3 Ever Come Out?
As of now, it’s highly likely that Noragami Season 3 will be back at our screens. After waiting for almost five years, fans grew much anxious to know the anime’s future. Hence, the makers had to reply eventually. Upon being asked why there’s no update about the installment, the makers pointed out that there’s not much content left in the manga series to make another season.
However, three consecutive manga volumes have been published after the same. There is now enough content for the makers to create Noragami Season 3. In fact, chances suggest that another couple of manga volumes may be coming our way sometime in 2020. Hence, giving around 4 to 5 volumes to make the third installment. The release Volume 21 has brought in much hope for fans to expect Season 3. We hope to get several other details about the anime adaptation sooner next year.
Noragami Season 3: Plot Details & Spoilers
Narogami tells the story of a schoolgirl, Hiyori Iki, whose life takes turns upon meeting a bus accident while saving a stranger. The accident causes her soul to frequently slip out of her body and jump between two parallel worlds. One of them is the Near Shore, where regular humans and creatures live. Whereas, the other one, the Far Shore, is a world where demons and human souls linger. Soon, Hiyori meets Yato, a nameless god without a shrine and his Regalia. The three of them become good friends and venture on various adventures struggling with their friendships, identity, and pasts.
Narogami Season 3 will be a tough one for our characters. Fans of the show will finally get to Yato’s true identity with a big revelation of his dark past. On the other hand, it will be revealed that the random man who kisses Hiyori is actually Yato’s father. The third installment will dive deeper into the father-son duo’s relationship.
Yato desires to be the god with millions of worshippers. Besides, Bishamon forgives him for killing his first family. Hence, he soon begins to gather allies as much as possible. However, it won’t be as easy since Yato’s previous Regalia, Nora, is returning to seek revenge. Whereas, Yato is still unaware that he now has a new enemy.
Moreover, Noragami Season 3 will feature Yukine helping Yato to become the god of fortunes. Well, we may even get to see how Yato helps Hiyori in preventing her death. The third installment of the anime adaption still has a lot of questions to answer.
