Previous Episode Recap!
In the last episode of Re Zero, the viewers saw Garfiel appears in front of the Sanctuary door, damaged from his fight with Otto and Ram but still moving. He recognizes Subaru and Emilia attaining there and asks them to leave so he can ruin the entrance, sealing the Sanctuary for eternity. Emilia accurately notifies that Garfiel is scared, while Subaru attacks the demi-human of being a coward. After Garfiel’s mom neglected the Sanctuary, he and his half-sister Frederica were watched after by Ryuzu Meyer’s clones.
Later, Garfiel tells Subaru that he desired his mother to be well, revealing that she died while the journey. Eventually, Subaru has no option but to challenge Garfiel. Subaru defeats the demi-human using his newly-acquired ability. Ram later persuades Garfiel to go to the cemetery and confront his past. When he does, he learns that his mom didn’t leave him and Frederica. She moved to the outside world because she needed to find Garfiel’s father.
