The story of the anime revolves around a young boy named, TsukuneAono who enrolls into the Yokai Academy. It is a strict rule of the Academy that if any humans are found inside the campus, he or she will be killed on the spot. He befriends a vampire girl, MokaAkashiya who enjoys his company and more than that his taste of blood. Later he finds out that if the Rosario from the Mako’s necklace is removed she will transform into a completely different form. He makes a lot of friends while hiding his true identity to be a human from everyone else.

Till the date, only two light novels of the manga are released of the series. First of which has only 10 volumes and the second had 14 volumes. All of which are already used to develop the previous seasons of the anime. It is reported that the writer, Akihisa Ikeda is retired from the series and he no more will be writing for Rosario+Vampire.
