Sailor Moon Movie: Release Date

Toei Animation is all set to surprise us with a sequel of the third season of Sailor Moon Crystal. It will be split into two parts with movies premiering in the Japanese theatres, as well. Besides, they recently declared the title of the first part, Pretty Guardians Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie or Bishōjo Senshi Sailor Moon Eternal. The studio also released the official poster of the films.

For fans who don’t know, Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie isn’t the first movie of the franchise. Three Sailor Moon films have already premiered in the theatres since 1995 before the 2014’s anime series. The studio is yet to think of a title for the second part of the movie. Also, it neither has an official release window as of now.

The film will use the art style established by 2014’s debut season of the anime series. Sailor Moon Eternal is set to release by the late Summer of 2020. On the other hand, it will premiere in the Japanese theatres on September 11, 2020.

Will Sailor Moon Crystal Season 4 Ever Release?

Sailor Moon Crystal, also known as Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal in Japan, debuted back in 2014. The shōjo manga series, Sailor Moon, written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi is one of the most popular ones of its time. Hence, when its first anime adaptation debuted back in the 1990s, it gained loads of fame as well, and so did the 2014 version. Toei Animation produced the latter in memory of the original animation series‘ 20th anniversary.
Upon its release in 2014, the anime series became a fan-favorite and much more successful than any of its previous parts. Hence, the studio didn’t wait to give a couple of extra seasons. The second and third installments came out in consecutive years. However, we’ve all been waiting for Sailor Moon Crystal Season 4 ever since. Following 2016, the fourth part has always been in high demand.
Henceforth, Sailor Moon Crystal Season 4 can turn out to be a massive success for the studio upon renewal. As of today, the installment can collect in much more revenue than many of the anime series. On the other hand, dropping the animation adaptation here can bring in much outrage from fans for the makers. Well, it may not be the case as Toei Animation seems to have much confidence in the show.
Thus, Sailor Moon Crystal Season 4 can indeed get a renewal soon. However, fans may have to wait for much longer this time. Besides, we currently hope for an official update from the makers.

When Will The Fourth Season Come Out?

As of now, the fourth season of Bishōjo Senshi Sailor Moon is pretty far away. The production has already announced the release of the latest Sailor Moon Movie, but we haven’t heard anything of the anime series yet. However, chances suggest that the installment may only return once both parts of the film premiere at the theatres. While the first part is set to go on floors by late 2020 summers, the second one may not return before the end of 2020 or early 2021.

Sailor Moon Crystal Season 4 Release Date

As of now, we can expect Sailor Moon Crystal Season 4 release date sometime after the two-part movie. Hence, it may release as early as mid-2021. However, fans may have to wait for an official confirmation, which may not come anytime soon. What are your expectations from the upcoming movie series of the anime adaptation?
