The Seven Deadly Sins Season 2 is one of the most anticipated anime series and recently the fans were delighted when Netflix announced that Season 2 of “7DS” (Nanatsu no Taizai) will be available on 17 February. However, fans were left confused as the series was mislabeled instead Netflix offered a mini-series titled Signs of Holy War. This series only had 4 episodes of the same length as the first season and was first aired between August 28, 2016 – September 18, 2016, in Japan. Signs of Holy War acts as a prequel to the series as the events shown didn’t take place after the events of Season 1.
The Seven Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Taizai) is arguably the best Netflix Original anime series against the tough competitors like Knights of Sidonia. Though the release of mini-series instead a complete season displeased a large number of fans and were angry with the number of episodes that released. However, the anime’s solid fanbase still expressed their endearing love for the anime series and fans now have refocussed for a complete season as the four-episode is a good sign for the making of season 2.
The first season of the anime reportedly consumed first 100 chapters of the manga series, right now there are 206 chapters so there’s enough content to pull out another 24 episodes season. Moreover, on 17 March 25th volume of the manga was published and the volume includes two chapters titled “Memories of the Holy War” and “The Main Players of the Holy War” thus clearly indicates “Signs of Holy War” has several potential points for Seven Deadly Sins Season 2.
If you’re an anime fan and new to the series, Seven Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Taizai) is the anime adaptation of super hit manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki. The 7DS is based on once an active group of knights who disbanded but have recently been enlisted after a coup is currently in play. The first season was originally aired between October 5, 2014 – March 29, 2015.
There are several rumors floating around the internet saying that the production of Seven Deadly Sins Season 2 has been stopped and the show may have canceled. But with the recent interest of Netflix, we can assume that the production team and broadcaster will be sticking with the series for at least one more season.
There is great possibility that we will get another 24 episode season but the official confirmation is awaited by the A-1 Pictures (The production house behind the anime) or Netflix themselves it won’t be for quite a while. The series could premiere in the fall of 2017 or in the beginning of 2018. Though it is a long wait ahead but we are sure fans will be definitely willing to see the Seven Deadly Sins Season 2.
