Eight Bit studio has finally announced the official release date of ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 2.’ The anime will soon hit our screens with a brand-new set of episodes. Besides, the story of the popular adaptation will take unexpected turns this time around. Here’s everything you need to know.
That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime, popular known as TenSura or Slime Isekai debuted back in 2018, to become one of the best isekai animes of the decade. The animated show follows all leads for the genre, yet remains to be a unique offer. Right after it ended in March 2019, the demand for a second season became uncontrollable. Hence, the production didn’t take long to wave the green flag.

Eight Bit (8Bit) ordered the anime for another run alongside the premiere of Season 1 finale. The news came around through the official Twitter account of the anime. Productions for the new episodes soon began and are currently in continuation. On January 26, 2020, the studio announced the release window of the upcoming installment.
TenSura’s Three New OVA Episodes: Release Date
That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime will be getting three new OVA episodes. These episodes will be released as a part of the limited-edition manga volumes and were announced back in early 2020. The three-part original story premiered in various theatres in Japan on January 26, 2020. Whereas, the first Original Animation DVD (OAD) episode will be bundled with Volume 14 of the manga on March 27, 2020. On the other hand, the rest two of them with be available alongside Volume 15 and Volume 16 on July 9 and November 9, 2020, respectively.

The OVA episodes will feature an original story by light-novel writer Fuse. The story will revolve around central character Rimuru as she becomes a substitute teacher at the Kingdom of Ingracia’s Freedom Academy.
That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 2: Plot Details
Eight Bit’s isekai anime follows the story of 37-year-old salaryman Satoru, who is stabbed to death and wakes up as in another world. Reincarnated as Rimuru, he becomes a slime with an ability that can devour other creatures and obtain their abilities. With his powers, Satoru tries to build his own society where all kinds of species can happily live together.
The first season of the anime follows the plot of the first four volumes of the light novels and some parts of the later volumes as well. However, as per reports, That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 2 will pick up from Volume 8 instead. The second season may open with a brief recap where Rimuru happens to be traveling home while Hinata attacks and nearly kills him. Rimuru barely manages to escape and rushes home.
Upon arriving at Tempest, he finds out that an enemy army besieged it. In order to win over them, Rimuru evolves into a True Demon Lord. That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 2 will then follow the lead character on a series of wild adventures.
Is This The Last Season?
TenSura is one of the most popular anime by Eight Bit studio. Hence, chances for its renewal after ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 2’ are pretty high. The original light novel series has a total of fifteen volumes as of September 2019. Whereas, Volume 16 will be on floors on March 27, 2020.
The second season of the anime may cover the plot of around 4 to 5 LN volumes. Even then, the studio will still have enough source material to create future installments of the series. Hence, as per the possibilities, TenSura Season 2 may not be the last season of the anime.

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 2: Release Date
Eight Bit recently announced the release window of ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 2.’ The news came through the anime’s official website. Season 2 will hit the screens in the fall 2020 anime season. It’s highly likely for the new episode to begin telecast from October 2020.
