With every passing day, fans have begun to worry about the future of The Ancient Magus Bride Season 2. The anime released more than two years ago, and the studio is yet to order a second run. The Ancient Magus’ Bride originated as a manga series written and illustrated by Kore Yamazaki. Besides, as per the official website of the publisher, Mag-Garden, the first limited edition of Volume 14, is set to be available from September 10, 2020.
The debut installment of the anime series covered the plot of the first nine manga volumes. Hence, the remaining five books can be used to create at least a single-cour season of the anime. The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 may not have as many episodes as Season 1 (24 episodes), but it will be considered as a full-season. Besides, Wit Media will finally have enough source material to produce the second season.
On the other hand, fans need not to worry about the delay as well. It’s quite normal for animes to have long gaps between seasons. Unlike US tv shows, several anime series like One Punch Man and Log Horizon have taken years to return. Hence, it’s understandable if Wit Media takes a while to form a decision.

What Will Happen Next?
The story of the famous anime adaptation revolves around Chise Hatori, an orphaned high school girl that is mistreated by her relative and the society as well. Hence, she decides to sell herself at an auction to seek a new place to call home. At the auction, an ancient magus, a humanoid with an animal head, buys her for five million pounds. This magus, Elias, ends up changing Chise’s life forever.
Chise and Elias eventually get married in the Season 1 finale. The ancient magus’ wife decides to she wants to remain Elias’ magic apprentice and keep learning from him. This brings us to the end of the Child Of Thorn arc. Like the latest manga volumes, The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 will begin by telling the College Arc. The plot will revolve around what happens after the couple’s wedding in the forest. On the other hand, it will also welcome some new challenges for Elias and Chise.
The Ancient Magus Bride Season 2: Release Date
As of now, fans will have to wait until the release of a few more manga volumes. The first limited edition of Volume 14 will be published on September 10, 2020. The chances are high that the studio will wave the green flag once the fourteenth volume is out. Yet, The Ancient Magus Bride Season 2 may take at least a year for production. Hence, as per the current situations, fans can expect the new episodes sometime around late 2021 or early 2022.
