However, the studio officially announced the productions of The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 and Season 3 on the streaming service’s event and later on Twitter as well. As of early 2021, neither Kinema Citrus nor Crunchyroll has reported the production wrap of the second installment.

However, the anime creators later revealed that the new character is only a small part of the major battles. It was reported that the upcoming battles would likely be much fiercer than before. Is There Enough Source Material For Season 3?
Being an adaptation, the Shield Hero anime depends upon its source material for the plot. In the past, many anime adaptations have been discontinued due to a lack of content. However, luckily, Kinema Citrus currently has more than enough LN volumes left for future seasons. The anime’s debut season adapts the first five volumes (including bits of Volume 6 and Volume 10). Hence, The Rising Of Shield Hero Season 2 will likely cover the next five volumes of the light novel series.
The Shield Hero manga series serialized for a total of 22 volumes and concluded back in June 2019. Hence, there is still enough source material left for The Rising Of Shield Hero Season 3 as well. However, if each season covers roughly five books, the amount of LN volumes available will only be enough for four seasons in total. Hence, while there is still hope for a third and fourth season, the popular anime might not be able to continue after that.
The Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 3: Release Date
It’s almost more than a year since the renewal of Shield Hero Season 2 and Season 3 were announced. Fans are desperately waiting to know the official release date of the sequel.
