Wise Man’s Grandchild or Kenja no Mago is a 2015 light novel series written by Tsuyoshi Yoshioka and illustrated by Seiji Kikuchi. An anime adaptation by Silver Link studio aired a few years later in 2019 and became an instant hit. Silver Link, Kadokawa, and neither of the companies related to the anime’s production are ready to discuss Season 2. However, looking at the anime’s popularity, a second season of the series is likely to happen. Kenja no Mago has a large and loyal fanbase, waiting for the green signal. Despite having a low LN volumes sale, Wise Man’s Grandchild has turned out to be an overall success. A second season can actually turn out to be much more profitable due to its high demand.
On the other hand, the Wise Man’s Grandchild Mobile Game has boosted up the popularity. Fans are excited about the mobile game, even though it’s yet to release. Its performance can overall help to grab the ‘Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2’ renewal. Until then, fans will have to wait for the official announcement.
Well, it’s pretty early to expect a second season. It’s only been seven to eight months since the debut season ended. Hence, Silver Link has more than enough source material to create Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2. In fact, the remaining content can be used to produce several other anime installments as well.
Kenja no Mago Season 2: What Will Happen Next?
Kenja no Mago revolves around a Japanese salaryman that dies in a car accident. He gets reborn as a child in another world filled with magic and demons. Merlin Wolford, a patriot hero, picks him up and raises him as a grandson. Shin soaks up Merlin’s teachings and earns him some irresistible powers. However, Merlin forgets to teach him common sense. Therefore, Shin is then sent to a Magic Academy.
By the end of the first season, Shin, Sicily, and friends, the Ultimate Magicians we preparing to fight Strom and his demons. Season 1 ended with Volume 3 of the light novel series. Hence, Season 2 will pick the plot of Volume 4 until the sixth or seventh LN volume. Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2 will feature the fight between Shin and Strom. Whereas, it will discuss how Shin handles the demon’s plotting.
Wise Man’s Grandchild Season 2: Release Date
Silver Link’s popular anime is yet to get the green flag. However, fans may get the good news anytime soon. Although even if they renew the anime right away, Kenja no Mago Season 2 has low chances of release before early to mid-2021.
