Taylor Swift’s Father Faces Assault Allegation In Australia

Taylor Swift is currently on her historic tour, The Eras Tour. The singer-songwriter has just wrapped up the Australian leg of the tour. She ended the leg with four shows in Sydney. However, the singer is currently in buzz for an assault case involving hitting a paparazzi. Well, Taylor performs in front of more than 80,000 people every night, with cameras on her every moment for 3.5 hours.

Evidently, the singer would demand privacy from the paparazzi after that. However, it seems like Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, is now facing allegations of assault for protecting his daughter’s privacy. The incident took place only hours after Taylor Swift’s performance in Sydney. The rumors suggest that Scott Swift assaulted a photographer who was trying to take pictures of the singer on North Shore, Sydney.

However, Taylor’s team quickly addressed the rumors, saying that the photographer was “aggressive” towards the singer and her team. According to the sources, the photographer was aggressively pushing towards the star by grabbing her security member. He also threatened a female staff member to throw her into the water.

The North Shore Police Area confirmed the incident in their recent statement. However, they refused to name the people involved. According to the reports, the statement only reveals the ages of the two individuals. “Alleged assault after a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf around 2.30 am local time,” the statement said.

Besides this, the younger man reported the incident, and the inquiries are now underway. An Australian local news channel reported that Scott Swift, Taylor Swift’s father, was one of the individuals involved. And the victim was photographer Ben McDonald.

During the incident, Taylor Swift’s team tried to block her from being photographed with the help of umbrellas. According to Ben’s statement, Scott Swift “charged and punched him in the face.” The photographer, the chief executive of Matrix Media Group, later stressed more about the incident. “In 23 years of doing this, I’ve never been assaulted, let alone been punched in the face by a father,” he said.
