Jane Foster Might Be Suffering From Breast Cancer

The audience is eagerly waiting for the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. Previously, news flashed about her being the female Thor in the upcoming installment. This news came when Waititi put Mjolnir, Thor’s mighty hammer, in Natalie Portman’s hand, at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Recently, the director of the movie, Taika Waititi, discussed some plot-details in an interview with Variety. As he stated, there is some possibility of the addition of a comic storyline involving Jane Foster’s battle with breast cancer. According to Waititi, this plot-line is a really important part of the books that Jane is fighting this thing, and two battles are going on.
However, he held this to be a possibility and did not confirm it. Waititi also told that he is not sure that they could do a complete lift of that whole storyline. That is because things change through the shoot, and even when they’re editing sometimes, he added.

Comic-Book Storyline

According to the Marvel comics, Thor will end up becoming unworthy of being the God of Thunder and of wielding his magical hammer, Mjolnir. Along with that, his former love interest, Jane Foster, is suffering from Breast Cancer and getting diagnosed.

Meanwhile, a mysterious female picks up the hammer and becomes the so-called female Thor. And that mysterious girl turns out to be the fan-favorite Jane Foster. Becoming the super-powered Thor temporarily rids Jane of cancer, but it still ruins her body in human form.
Comic series of The mighty Thor consists of five volumes. That includes Thunder In Her Veins, Lords of Midgard, The Asgard/Shi’ar War, The War Thor, and The Death of The Mighty Thor.

It seems that the fans of Marvel Cinematic Universe will have to wait for quite some time to have their mighty Thor back in action. As news came in recently, the production work for the next Thor movie won’t kick off until next year.
