After the release of ‘The Nun’, James Wan’s Conjuring Universe is ready to expand itself even futher. The universe already has five movies in it and two more movies are alleged to start their pre-production very soon. An untitled Annabelle movie is set to release in 2019 which will start its shooting very soon. Along with that, ‘The Conjuring 3’ is also ready for tis pre-production phase.
The universe was started with ‘The Conjuring’ which was directed and written by James Wan. After that, Wan held the responsibility for the connected horror universe. Reportedly, Wan would not be directing the ‘The Conjuring 3’ but he is sure to produce it. Although, before ‘The Conjuring 3’ the fans will get to watch the new Annabelle movie which may release in the fall of 2019.
According to the co-producer Peter Safran, the screenplay of the movie is going to start working on. David Leslie Johnson will be coming back to the team for writing the script and Peter trusts him to do a magnificent job. Peter is sure that the movie will starts its shooting almost during the mid of 2019 and will the release in summer of 2020, which has proven a great time for the release of previous two movies of the series.
There has been no official statements about the plot of the movie or which case Ed and Lorrain Warren are going to pick for the ‘The Conjuring 3’. Earlier during the making of ‘Annabelle: Creation’ Peter revealed his proposition for the future movie by saying that he wants to do something different with Warrens this time. He said that he wanted to move the story away from the cliché haunted house setup and wants to explore the already established characters.
For now, there are no official updates about when the shooting of ‘The Conjuring 3’ will start or about its release date.
