Top Gun is a 1986 action drama film. The story of the movie revolves around Naval Aviator LT Pete “Maverick” Mitchell who is sent to attain Top Gun school in Miramar after a reckless successful but reckless maneuverer which saved his wingman’s life. At the school, Maverick is challenged by top student Iceman for the annual Top Gun Trophy.

According to the last week announcements for the film, Top Gun: Maverick is delayed by a full year. However its production has not slowed down, and reportedly, the movie will start its shooting by the end of September. The delayed release date of the film is postponed due to high box competition, but the filming is still beginning sooner rather than later.

The movie is going to be shot in San Diego. Along with Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer is also going to be back in the as Iceman. The story of the movie is highly kept under secrecy, but a short bio of the film has been released which says, “will be set in a world of drone technology and will explore the end of the era of dogfighting.” This plot seems similar to the 2006 action movie ‘Stealth’ where a drone is put into an air-fighter plane squad.

The movie has an initial release of 2019, but later it was delayed by a full year after its original date to June 26, 2020. The main concern for the delay of the movie was a release of comic book superhero movies which can abruptly affect the box office performance of any film.
