Tammy Slaton has been going great and achieving many milestones in her solo journey. But she had to leave her husband, Caleb Willingham, behind when she got out of rehab after 14 months. He had to stay back as his progress was not as consistent as his wife’s. Yet, Tammy said they had been making it work by being on the phone.
She mentioned texting Caleb a lot. But 1000 Lb Sister stars would sometimes not get the time to be on the phone at all. The latter mentioned how he was so far off from making progress, failing to have control over his food addiction. But he promised Tammy he would “get better” and has been “taking care of things.”
Tammy directly confronted her partner by asking him to openly reveal what “taking care of things” meant. Caleb then fessed up that he was in the hospital for 6 days, and the doctors feared he might have pneumonia. But he made it out after a few days. This shocked his wife as she would constantly text Caleb, and he didn’t let her know about this.
The Slaton sibling was really disappointed that her husband resorted to lying and hiding things from her. As the filming took place almost a year ago, 1000 Lb Sister fans must already know how things turned out for Caleb. He is no longer in this world after losing his battle with food addiction in June 2023.

As 1000 Lb Sisters fans got to see Tammy and Caleb’s first argument on the show after she got out of rehab. The latter’s lack of determination to improve caused many troubles for them. In fact, there were many posts on their social media handle that hinted their marriage was suffering.
It began when Tammy had changed her surname to Willingham but changed it back to Slaton. Moreover, Caleb had also made a facebook post by saying he was no longer with his wife. None of them spoke about their issues in detail, they just dropped hints about things blowing out of proportion. But at last, disaster struck in June, and Caleb passed away.
Since then, Tammy has been quite kind and considerate about Caleb. She has been upfront about how much she misses him and even wears a necklace made up of his ashes.
