Amy and Tammy Slaton became celebrities in a very short time. It has only been two years since they started starring in TLC’s 1000 Lb Sisters. Both of them were suffering from obesity. While Amy was 400 Lbs, her elder sister Tammy was 600 Lbs. They didn’t disappoint, and their journey on the show has been quite incredible. Well, they finally have achieved a new milestone. That’s because the ninth annual American Reality TV Awards recognized the series. They won the award for ‘The Guilty Pleasure’ show of 2022. TLC also shared this achievement on their social media.
Apart from 1000 Lb Sisters, other nominees in the same category were America’s Funniest Home Videos, Love & Marriage: Huntsville, Dr. Pimple Popper, Hell’s Kitchen S19, and Savage X Fenty Show. Fans were shocked that it ended up beating the immensely popular show featuring Gordon Ramsay. So far, the sisters have not yet responded to this win. However, their avid fans are very happy after hitting this milestone. The reality show also had a nomination in the “Outstanding Docu Series” category, but the trophy went home to Men In Kiltz’s team from STARZ. However, getting a nomination in two categories has already been a big deal for the showrunners.
1000 Lb Sisters: Show Renewed For 2 New Seasons!
While the 1000 Lb Sisters fanbase is very happy about the Slaton’s big win, they are also eagerly waiting for a new season. Season 3 came out earlier this year, and TLC has dropped no new hints about the renewal. Many worried that the show had been canceled. Fortunately, that is not the case. A source mentioned that the Slaton family is currently shooting for the fifth season. Hence, the network has renewed the reality show for not just one but two new seasons. The previous season came to an end when Tammy Slaton had to go to the hospital for carbon dioxide poisoning that nearly took her life.
The new seasons will focus on her genuine weight loss. The source also claimed that Tammy underwent weight-loss surgery by the end of Summer 2022 and also found someone in the rehab center. She is engaged to her boyfriend, Caleb, and both of them are ready to tie the knot this month, i.e., November 2022. All the viewers will get to witness these moments in the forthcoming seasons.
