TLC just released a video preview of Leighton’s first major milestone. Apparently, all the invites for the birthday went out except one. Liz, predictably, did not invite Anna to her daughter’s birthday. Therefore, fans were enraged when they saw aunt Anna absent from Leighton’s big day.

Tensions soared high with Leighton’s 1st birthday. TLC previously dropped a video preview where the family was planning the little one’s birthday party. True to herself, Liz didn’t budge her decision to snub Anna.

Trent additionally remarked that if Anna were to be there, “it would just be awkward.” Amber then backed her husband and Liz, saying, “Leighton doesn’t even know her.” On the other hand, Anna was understandably sad and disappointed when her own family cut her out like that. “It makes me upset,” she confessed. This particular episode predictably didn’t sit well with the fans as they slammed the Johnstons for their ill-treatment of Anna.

The whole Johnston family is seemingly putting all the blame for Anna’s estrangement onto her. All of them wanted her to take responsibility while actively cutting her out of their family planning and family events. 

Fans might recall that Liz snubbed Anna out of Leighton’s 1st birthday party in a previous TLC video preview. The Johnstons subsequently backed her up and stood firm on cutting the latter out of the family events. They insisted she take all the accountability. Furthermore, they defended their decision to cut her out with various excuses.

TLC just released another video sneak peek. It is the Johnstons celebrating Leighton’s 1st birthday. The birthday girl was fussy in the beginning, not knowing how to handle all that attention. However, she certainly was interested in her yellow unicorn cake. Animal-themed birthday decorations adorned the family patio. Everyone then sang the birthday song to her while her parents blew out the candles.

The video showed the Johnston cousin being an active part of the celebration. However, fans quickly pointed out that someone very important was missing. They were shocked to see that Liz had gone through with her decision not to invite Anna. Therefore, Anna was predictably absent at her own niece’s 1st birthday party.
