Although they made no official announcement, all their social media followers saw something new on their social media. The new member has featured in many of the pictures and videos that the Johnston family has posted on their social media. Initially, fans were confused about how someone new suddenly became a part of the reality family. Especially when they never heard or saw him in the previous seasons. Everything is clear now as this new person has been revealed to be an exchange student from Finland.
TV Season Spoilers reports that his name is Joose Jeskanen, and he is a resident of Joensuu, situated in North Karelia, Finland. The boy is 17 years of age and a high school student. In fact, he went to America as a part of the ‘student exchange program.’
7 Little Johnstons: Joose’s Life In Finland
As per a popular Finnish tabloid, Joose revealed that his siblings have also been a part of the ‘student exchange program’. As a result, his mother, Elina Sarpola, was interested in sending him for the same. However, she was worried about her son’s well-being as he is someone with dwarfism. Hence, she didn’t want a family that was over or less protective of him. Fortunately, she knew about the Johnstons owing to their reality show, and she reached them through social media.
As the family consists of little people, just like her son, Elina was sure his Joose would be at ease with the family. Long story short, the exchange student was in Georgia to stay with them. He flew to the United States in October 2021. In fact, he will also feature in the show in the ongoing season, i.e., Season 10.

For the first time, the famous Johnston family hosted a little person as their guest. Joose got along with the family very well as they had tons of things in common.
