It was already tough for the Samoan native to earn for his family after moving to America. The couple had limited funds supporting them and their kids in this dire situation. On top of that, Asuelu’s mother and sister have been very pushy about money, asking him to send it to them to Samoa. Now, another issue has added to the stress. In the latest episode of the popular spin-off, Kalani’s mom asked her daughter and son-in-law to move out of her house. ETOnline points out that this is because she is selling it off to move to California to be near Kalani’s father.
Now that the couple has to move out and find another place to live, they are more stressed about their financial situation than ever. To relieve some of that tension, Asuelu decided to go to a Smash House with his Samoan friend Tui. He confided in him and discussed his struggles. As Pulaa poured his heart out about the money issue, Tui suggested that he should rather move back to Samoa. He pointed out that Asuelu has been in American a lot more than his 90 Day Fiance celebrity wife has been in his island country. Well, the TLC star looked a lot more convinced than he should’ve been.

After his conversation with Tui, the Samoan native took no time to discuss moving back to his country with his wife. He suggested that since the couple is facing financial problems, they should leave America. Since he has his own land in Samoa, they won’t have to pay for their living. On top of that, Kalani won’t even have to work, and they will just have to grow food on their land. Well, as expected, Kalani looked pretty shocked by her husband’s suggestion. And instantly, she refused to leave her country and said that she doesn’t want to be away from her home and her family.
This was when Asuelu started to drag Faagata’s contribution to their marriage. He pointed out that he has sacrificed so much for her. Moreover, she said that it was time for Kalani to be “a real Samoan girl”. Well, Kalani didn’t wait to shot back that she disagrees with her husband for suggesting that she’s not a real Samoan girl. In fact, Faagata says that she is a real Samoan girl regardless of the parameters the people put around her. She pointed out that her father is Samoan, and so is he.
On the other hand, Asuelu said that Kalani needs to make some changes because he is a “Samoan man”. Besides, he quotes that since she is half Samoan, their family is a “Samoa family”. However, his 90 Day Fiance partner strongly disagreed with this statement. Hence, she said, “Your wife is American, your kids are American, and if you still want to be a part of our lives, then you need to adapt to life here”. On top of everything, she also adds that “You can’t still act like you’re living on the island”.
