Ben Rathbun has been in the limelight not only due to his problematic 90 Day Fiance journey but also his personal life troubles. Last year, news surfaced online about his arrest in 2020. He was driving under the influence, that too, with a suspended license. The star mentioned how his run-in with the law happened because a homeless couple “drugged him.”
As per his statement to Intouch, Ben had visited a homeless couple. They were living in a place called Red Roof Inn, and he wanted to help them. The pair had offered him wine in some plastic cup, and he took it, and that’s how things turned upside down. Ben then stopped at a hotel for a night and has no memory of what happened in the last 24 hours. It happened because the couple had allegedly spiked his wine with flubromazolam. The reports also mentioned this after the test came out.
Police arrested ben when he tried to drive his car the next day, hit it against a curb. That’s when th officials found out he had a suspended license. Then, he was also charged with OWAI, i.e., operating while ability impaired. The court verdict for the same said that Ben had 18 months of probation starting from January 2021. Because of this incident, the Michigan Lupus Foundation also fired him. He was working there as a director.
