Betty and Ron were making Julia work on their farm against her wishes. It was time her lid blew and she gave Brandon an ultimatum which she did. But what Brandon did after that was unbelievable. He stood up to his parents and told them that he will be moving out. However, some fans have started to think that their storyline is fake. Let’s take a look at this in detail.

When Julia first arrived in the States, Betty and Ron started interfering in their sex life and asked Brandon questions that were way too personal. On top of that, they even made the couple stay in separate rooms. Julia also had to do some chores around the farm she wasn’t comfortable doing at all. Even though Brandon was grateful that his parents were letting them live at their place rent-free, fans thought that it was too much.

Calling the storyline staged, fans pointed out that Betty wasn’t able to shed a single tear even though we saw her crying in the teaser for that episode. While many fans agreed, another pointed out that maybe she was trying to hit two birds with one stone. Meaning, she might be trying to fake tears to manipulate Brando and put on a show at the same time. 

Another hint that point to this whole thing being staged is that their family friend Aspen on the show is Betty’s sister according to Screenrant. Julia and Brandon were also allegedly celebrating New Year’s Eve with Aspen’s son and hubby. So, there’s a chance the couple might already be married.

It looks like Betty doesn’t want anyone to wear clothes in the family hot tub as it contaminates the water. According to her, it’s for therapeutic use instead of entertainment. But Brandon implied that his mom might have scolded him for not bathing in the hot tub with Julia nude. He referred to his night alone with his Russian fiance and said, “Well, I can definitely say it was therapeutic for me.” 

Considering that Betty is the one who doesn’t let Brandon and Julia in the same room, it’s a little hypocritical of her to scold them for clouding the tub with clothes.
