Gabe also became the first transgender castmate to appear on the show, impressing the fans again with TLC’s inclusivity. But the problems in his life don’t seem to end. He just found out that his elder sister Monica refused to come to his wedding with the love of his life, Isabel. Is his family against their wedding?
90 Day Fiance: Gabe’s Sister Monica Unhappy With His Wedding? Refuses To Attend?
In the last few episodes, Gabriel Paboga finally introduced his family on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way. Unfortunately, the man had to fly back to Florida. He did so as a lack of a proper birth certificate didn’t let him marry his partner, Isabel. But after getting everything in order, he flew back to Columbia to say “I do” to his fiance. Gabriel’s family, i.e., his mother and elder sister, Monica, also joined him to become part of the ceremony. The Florida resident was scared about his fiance’s interaction with his sister as he called them “alpha females.” Besides, Gabe admitted that his sibling’s interference had affected his previous relationships too.
Well, disaster struck before Gabe and Isabel’s wedding. That’s when Monica texted her brother that she wouldn’t be coming to the ceremony. He was in shock after finding out that his elder sister won’t be by his side for one of the biggest days of his life. While Gabe’s mom tried to comfort him by saying they would “get through this,” the American man couldn’t contain his emotions. Poor Gabe shed tears before walking away from the camera. 90 Day Fiance fans aren’t sure what exactly ticked Monica off that she took such a decision.
Other fans were calling out Gabe. They said he enables his sister to be controlling of his relationships. Hence, viewers wanted him to “grow a backbone” and stand up to his sister. Well, only the upcoming episodes will reveal what went down in Gabriel’s family.

Many 90 Day Fiance fans are convinced that Isabel and Gabriel are head over heels in love with each other. Hence, none of them are trying to scam the other or seeing this wedding as an “opportunity” instead of a union. But Gabriel Oaboga’s family has very conflicting views. Back when he was in America, his mother and elder sister, Monica, sat him down to have an important conversation with him. His mother insisted he makes his future wife, Isabel, sign the agreement. Gabriel didn’t agree with this and felt it would be like setting his marriage up for “failure.”
Gabe’s mother said that getting a “prenup” would be like “protection” and “insurance.” Then when Monica arrived in Columbia, she brought up the same in front of Isabel. The latter expressed she had no issues signing the document as she isn’t with Gabriel because of money or materialistic things. Hence, Gabe’s sibling felt odd why her mother was against such a thing when Isabel admitted having no problems getting a pre-nup.
