Alaskan Bush People: Matt Brown’s Past Accusations Also Resurface

For Matt, these financial allegations are not new, as he has made similar allegations in the past as well. In 2021, he publicly accused his late father, Billy Brown, of keeping the money that he earned from the show. Matt took the help of social media and posted an emotional Instagram video where he said he was cold, broke, and struggling to eat. He claimed that producers pitched the show based on Billy’s book, but told the family to act like they lived entirely off the grid.

This is despite the fact that they had electricity, a TV, and other comforts not shown on the show. Matt said he didn’t like lying about such stuff, and the pressure to lie led him to alcoholism. Later, Matt went to rehab to fix his addiction as well. During his treatment, he realized how he couldn’t stand deceiving others as he was doing through the show. He also insisted that his father controlled all the earnings from Alaskan Bush People, leaving Matt with nothing.

Alaskan Bush People: Matt Says Ami Cost Him Royalty Checks

In the TikTok video, Matt was seen answering fans’ questions as he went live. One of the fans asked Matt whether he was a millionaire. He couldn’t help but scuff and said, “No, man. I’m broke. I shouldn’t have this much financial trouble because of the show I was on.” He then added that he never received royalties and claimed that his mom, Ami, actually cost him the royalty checks. Matt explained that he would need an entertainment lawyer to fix the issue. He also admitted he did not know when he could afford to do that.

Fans took to the comments section and couldn’t help but chime in with their reactions. One user said they felt bad for Matt, not because of his past allegations, but because he seemed to be trying to move forward. Another fan questioned why none of the Brown siblings could hold regular jobs. One commenter blamed their upbringing, saying the children grew up grifting and never learned real-world skills.

Some users discussed the family’s lifestyle and limited formal education, suggesting it left them unprepared for traditional careers. Others brought up the seriousness of the allegations, arguing that if money was stolen, legal action should follow. Another fan said the family’s pattern of secrecy makes it difficult to know the full truth. A different user stated that whatever the Brown family did seemed calculated.
