Cam Ayala has been a fan favorite since his appearance on The Bachelorette and then later on Bachelor In Paradise. He recently got his right leg amputated after battling lymphoedema for a long time. Cam is now learning to walk again and has a positive outlook on the whole thing. Besides, he posted a video of himself walking with the help of a walker on his Instagram. Ayala seems to be having a smooth recovery. Moreover, he is surrounded by friends and family who help and support him. According to the Maybe God podcast, he is filming his whole experience for a documentary.
Cam first publicly announced his diagnosis in 2018 while on The Bachelorette. The star has known about it since 2002 but never told anyone. He didn’t want people to feel sorry for him, and he wanted to keep his diagnosis private. Ayala has undergone 16 surgeries in the past 7 years. Tragically, amputation was the last solution. Well, doctors had saved his leg from amputation back in 2016 once, but it was necessary this time.

Lymphedema is a condition where tissues swell up due to fluid build-up. Normally, the fluid would be drained out through the body’s lymphatic system. This disorder caused a lot of problems in Ayala’s right leg and required him to get 16 surgeries. Moreover, doctors said that the Bachelor In Paradise wouldn’t be able to play competitive sports or do strenuous physical activity throughout his life. Cam has come a long way since then. He has a lot of support from his friends, family, and fans.
