Baylen Out Loud: Baylen Shares She Almost Had To Be In A Wheelchair Five Years Back

Baylen reminisced about her life five years ago on the Sarah Fraser Show. She shared that five years ago, she struggled with basic jobs because of her tics. There were days when her parents had to feed her because she couldn’t do it herself. Even walking became difficult. The Baylen Out Loud star was close to needing a cane full-time. There were also talks of needing a wheelchair.

One of the biggest issues was the impact of her tics on her legs. Her tics made her legs suddenly lock or twist inward toward her kneecaps. This made it extremely painful and almost impossible to walk. These flare-ups happened without warning and escalated quickly. Due to that, she often worried about falling or hurting herself, especially if she was alone or out in public.

She also talked about tic attacks, which drain her entirely physically and mentally. During those times, she avoided leaving the house for days because she didn’t know when a severe tic might hit. Even simple tasks like grocery shopping or walking the dogs felt risky. That constant fear is why a cane or wheelchair felt like a necessity back then.

Baylen said this is the reason her parents remain so protective today. They have been there when Baylen’s Tourette’s was terrible. Now her tics are better with therapy and medication, but they haven’t disappeared. She acknowledged her parents’ support through her bad times.
