Baylen Out Loud star Baylen Dupree recently said it hurts when fans mimic her tics for fun. She slammed the mockery because it was harmful to her. She lives in a Washington, D.C. apartment with her fiancé, Colin, and their dogs, Fluffy and Tootsie. Many of her social media posts dwell on her life as a reality TV star and Tourette syndrome advocate.
Baylen showed how she and her family navigated their ups and downs daily. Having a daughter with Tourette’s was tough for her parents. She was diagnosed with the neurological disorder at the age of 18. Her history of tics revealed that she used to do involuntary repetitive movements or odd sounds when she was just 7 or 8. As symptoms subsided after some time, they returned at 16.

Baylen Out Loud: Baylen Shares Pandemic Struggles With Tourette!
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the world might have seen the tremendous action of the virus, but Baylen Dupree saw herself struggling. The time marked with confusion among doctors and her parents’ difficulties led her to isolation. At that unfortunate time, she felt her disorder was the most debilitating. She hid from everyone and was confined to her room.
Baylen had to undergo therapy four times a week, which was too much for a young girl like her. The lockdown made her take online classes from school. The reality star said that she was really unconfident. After the school opened, she felt that it was better to keep her diagnosis hidden. She couldn’t reintroduce herself as someone different from her classmates, which further led her to cut her college journey short.
Baylen Out Loud: Baylen Reveals How People Thought She Had Catchphrases!
Baylen Dupree knows the audiences of Baylen Out Loud Season 1 laughed a lot when they watched her on screen. While she has no problem with their love, she notices a strange obsession in many who mock her. She noted that these people would think that the show is full of catchphrases, which isn’t true.

Baylen said she has seen a few who approached her to tell her tic cons. Those tics are some of her usual verbal ones. “I don’t like being acknowledged by my ticking. That just makes me tic,” she cleared the confusion with this statement. She sounded off on imitating, saying being on television isn’t a fair game.
Tics are the product of Tourette’s, so if someone is copying them, it’s like mocking the patient suffering from it. Even though her parents and siblings laugh at a few of Baylen’s tics, they know how not to make her feel uneasy and insulted. As social media made her get closer to the Tourette community, she doesn’t actively read or reply to comments unless they’re positive.
As much pain as there is in Baylen for being a victim of mockery, she received praise for her work. She came across a man at Chipotle who thanked her for her advocacy for Tourette’s. Meeting unknown people at places is surreal when they make sweet gestures and do not try to hurt Baylen’s sentiments. For the latest Baylen’s tea, stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers.
