Julie responded that Tourette wasn’t a problem for Baylen until she turned 16 or 17. At that time, she had no idea what Tourette was or what was even happening with her teenage daughter. She was utterly clueless regarding Baylen’s weird body movements. For the longest time, the family had no route to move along.
According to Julie, her mom’s instinct worked when Baylen started telling her she was uncomfortable in her skin. She even stepped back from going out in public places, which Julie also had to minimize. The latter believes that it’s best to listen to children when it comes to their bodies because they know what’s wrong.
